Thanks to all our lovely patrons who joined us on Saturday evening for the Patrons party at Iford Manor on Saturday. What a great evening! Fantastic singing from our Young Artists and a great introduction from Tim Nelson about the exciting (and ambitious) new version of Henry Purcell’s ‘A Fairy Queen’. 2016 is going to be a great season!
Following on from the success of a sell-out 2015 season, Iford Arts announced the new 2016 programme at the Iford Arts Patrons Party on Saturday 7thNovember at Iford Manor. Among the guests were director Tim Nelson, who spoke about Iford Arts’ new edition of ‘A Fairy Queen’ along with Iford Arts musical director Ollie Gooch who introduced the new Iford Arts New Generation Artists Scheme.
Three new opera productions were announced: Verdi’s Macbeth, a new production of Mozart’s A Magic Flute created and commissioned for Iford Arts by Charles Court Opera and an ambitious new edition of A Fairy Queen based on Shakespeare’s gorgeous and much loved ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’ with the music of Henry Purcell. The new edition will be directed by Tim Nelson and accompanied by Christian Curnyn and his orchestra of Early Opera Company.
A comprehensive programme of classical concerts and festival style evenings complete the 2016 Iford Arts festival -as wonderfully eclectic as the Harold Peto gardens of Iford Manor.
