Iford Arts Opera, L’elisir d’amore announcement
Dr. Dulcamara L’elisir d’amore will be sung by Andrew Shore. Andrew is acknowledged as one of the most outstanding singer/actors currently working on the lyric stage. He has worked for all the major British houses as well as major opera houses abroad, including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Paris Opera, the Netherlands Opera, Komische Oper Berlin and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
Recent and future engagements include Major General Stanley/Pirates of Penzance, Lord Chancellor/Iolanthe, Pooh Bah/ Mikado and Baron Zeta/The Merry Widow for ENO, Dad/Greek for Scottish Opera, Quince/A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Aldeburgh Festival, La Roche/Capriccio for Garsington Opera, Beckmesser in The Master-Singers of Nuremberg for the State Opera of South Australia, Dulcamara/The Elixir of Love for the Canadian Opera Company and the title role in Don Pasquale for WNO.

The Iford Arts Festival opens on Friday 30 August with the Clare Teal prom, continuing on 31 August, 3, 6 & 7 September with Donizetti’s comic masterpiece L’elisir d’amore and a classical concert with Oliver Gooch and the Iford New Generation Young Artists on Sunday 1 September
